An “Obama” suit, manufactured in the textile factory Borac meaning Fighter, has become a fashion trend in Bosnia-Herzegovina and been spreading all over the country.
Borac’s employees have been rumoring that Obama will soon visit the facility to choose the size and color for himself and bring a few suits back to America. The headquarter of Borac sent a letter to the American Embassy in BiH to express its wish to hand over several suits to the new American president.
“We want to hand over this suit to the President with the explanation that ‘Obama’ is not being associated with a person, but that it represents a new trend, new time and hope for a better and safer future,” says Ahmet Curic, Borac’s assistant director general.
The first production of 5,000 suits is almost sold out. Not only in BiH but ‘Obama’ is also a hit in neighboring countries. The factory has received 20 offers, from Europe to America and expects more investment.
The company did not expect the suit to generate this much buzz as the name was chosen primarily to represent something new like the American president. “But Obama was not chosen by chance. At first, it was only a name in the news. Then the presidential campaign was in full swing, and everyone knew who he was; positive connotations were connected to him. On the other hand, Obama has style. Only ten percent of men look well in suits, and he is one of them.”
‘Obama’ has regenerated the company. It brings joy to the production plants, and it gives hope and greater desire to work, which is necessary to the workers.” Soon the market will be introduced to a new clothing line called “For President.”
‘Obama’s’ first customer, a soon-to-be best man from Croatia, saw it on a Thursday afternoon while shopping for a wedding suit. When he saw ‘Obama’ he couldn’t believe it. “We can not believe that they come up with that name for suits.” He continues, “only Bosnians can figure something like that!!!”
Yes, you can!
